After my initial experience with Icicles No.5, I knew I had to try out more of the glass toys.

As I write this review (or rather re-write my existing review for this product) I now have several glass pieces in my toy box. I have even ventured into the metal territory, with my first stainless steel piece.

When I saw this little beauty available, I knew I just had to have it. The fact it was double-ended AND double textured was just too much of an opportunity to miss – and so, without hesitation, I whipped out the plastic and placed an order for this and Icicles No. 61. Did it really double my pleasure?

First Impressions

Like the other Icicles dildos, this is presented in a gorgeous little gift box with the magnetic flap, and soft foam bed to keep it nice and safe. For some reason, this comes in a much larger box – although when compared next to the 7″ glass dildo I have, it’s no bigger. It’s a gorgeous translucent pink colour, making it the ultimate feminine pleasure product. However, men: don’t let the colour put you off as this dildo is amazing for stimulating the prostate (more on that later).

Each end has a tapered tip, allowing for easy insertion. Each half of the dildo has a different texture. The first 3.5″ has swirling curves which feel very similar to the curve on Icicles No. 5, so I could already imagine how this end would feel when in use. On the other end you have some raised little nodules which offer a different, but not at all unsatisfying change of pace and sensation. Each end of the dildo is curved enough to allow pinpoint stimulation of the g-spot and the p-spot.

Like the No.5, the No.55 has a good weight behind it, but feels lighter. It has the same circumference as the No.5 meaning it’s going to be filling, but not to a point where it’s uncomfortable – so I would definitely recommend this even if you are still starting out with exploring anal play.

In Use

As I stated in a previous review, I much prefer to use silicone lube for anal play, and as Glass toys are great to experiment with temperature play, I thought it would be wonderful to test drive the No. 55 in a nice warm bath. I placed the dildo in the water about 10 minutes before I got into the bath. By the time I got into the bath, it had warmed up incredibly well. I placed it on the side for just a few moments to take the edge off and got myself ready. I lubed up and decided I would start with the spiralled end, just to confirm my suspicious that it would feel similar to the No. 5. I was right, to a degree. Whilst the spirals on the shaft did indeed feel similar (and still extremely pleasurable), the actual curve in the shaft was far more pronounced, meaning it hit the prostate pretty much right off the bat, and because of the curve, it meant the stimulation was far more intense.

Switching it around to try the noduled end, again, I experienced the same – the curve really allowed the toy to work out my prostate, whilst those little raised bumps provided a new and pleasant sensation. Before long my knee’s were shaking, and my body was crying out for a release, and I soon brought myself to an intense and incredibly fulfilling orgasm. The warmth of the dildo had indeed added a slightly new twist to proceedings, and it felt slightly more ‘realistic’ experience.

Clean up and Maintenance

I covered this in my last glass review however, just to clarify – this can be easily cleaned using just water and sex toy cleaner, or if you so wish, just pop it in the dishwasher – you’ll soon have it sparkling and ready to go again in no time! It’s completely safe to use with ANY lube, and is perfect for anyone who is looking for a body safe alternative to regular realistic dildos.

Summary

This is probably one of my favourite glass pieces. It’s double-ended and double-textured, meaning you really get 2 for the price of 1 here. It’s once again, a stunningly made piece – it looks and feels beautiful in the hand, and it really does make me wish I could have these out on display. As an anal toy, it really does hit the spot, and I can imagine that it would certainly hit all the right spots if it was used vaginally.
