I’ve always been a big fan of german sex toy manufacturer Fun Factory. They create colourful, fun and above all, pleasurable sex toys. And my first review of 2016 for them has definitely got ‘fun’ slapped all over it.
Last year, I tried out the Big Boss G5 – the latest version of one of their more popular vibrator models. I was completely blown away with it’s power, but concerned that despite having the looped handle, it wasn’t totally anal safe. But still, that power… I was thirsty for more. After browsing the Fun Factory site late one evening, my eyes fell upon the gorgeously coloured new vibrator – the Moody. I knew that it would be mine. So I contacted Fun Factory to see if they would be happy to send it out to me for review, and they did.
A few days later, the Moody arrived and I wasted no time in ripping (well, carefully removing) it from it’s box and getting it on to charge. I was already enamoured with the brilliant orange colour, but I was eager just to see whether this little unisex vibrator would pack as much of a punch as the Big Boss. And when I switched it on, a huge grin started to spread across my face.

First Impressions
The packaging for the Moody follows the same concept of pretty much all of their products. Simple gold packaging with a ‘life size’ image of the Moody on the front. As you slip that off the main box, you are greeted with a message saying ‘Your Perfect Moment’. In this case, how very true. As you lift the flap, you find the instruction manual and underneath that lies the Moody. Waiting. It looks even more beautiful in the flesh than it does in photos.
The Moody utilises the Click’N’Charge magnetic USB recharging system that has become the method of choice for Fun Factory. You’ll need to charge the Moody fully before use, and the manual recommends around 8 hours to fully charge. This should give around 2/3 hours of play time. The Moody is fully waterproof, so can be taken into the bath/shower for some interesting bath time fun.
The Moody is 4 inches in insertable length, and has a curved tip which is aimed at providing p-spot or g-spot stimulation. The shaft features a sort of ‘swirl’ pattern on the shaft which is 3.75 inches in circumferences around it’s narrowest point and swells to a respectable 5.25 inches around its widest point. There is a flared, crimped-style base towards the handle which makes the Moody completely anal safe, but it still has a looped, ergonomic handle for extra security.
In Use
So let’s get it out of the way. The power. I am 99.99% certain that the motor inside the Moody is the very same motor that powers the G5 line (although the Moody is not marketed as such). So this means that packed into this gorgeous neon-coloured beauty is some serious rumble. As soon as I switched it on, I squealed with excitement. When you first turn it on, it starts off on it’s 3rd level of intensity. Pressing the minus button takes it down to it’s 2 lowest levels. Past the third, you’ve got three other intensities with the sixth being my ultimate favourite (naturally).
The Moody also features several patterns – there are 3 ‘aerobic’ patterns (which are essentially pulses in escalating speeds) and 3 ‘Razzle Dazzle’ patterns which are completely random, but the most fun. The shaft is incredibly squishy and flexible, which I think is why the vibrations travel through this toy as well as they do. It features a really handy ‘stop and start’ mode which is simply pressing the ‘Fun’ button to turn it on and off.
The only negative I could see so far, was the silicone itself. Whilst it has that satin texture that I love, there’s something about the silicone that Fun Factory use that just feels slightly ‘draggier’ than most other silicone toys. This means 2 things: 1) You need to ensure you use LOTS of lube, and keep plenty handy and 2) It attracts dust and hair SO very easily. No soon as I have cleaned it, Elphie has managed to get her fur all over it. So all I would say, is just make sure you give it a rinse before use.
So, let’s get on with how it feels. In short, OH MY GOD. This is definitely one of my new favourite vibrators. In fact, I am loving it even more than the Prism – at least this one is certified anal safe. Because if the shorter, graduated shaft, I found that I can use the Moody pretty much from a cold start. The curved, narrow tip is easy to insert and the increase in girth is gradual, so you can really take your time getting it all in, but it’s still highly pleasurable all the way.

The vibrations travel down the shaft with ease, and the tip sort of vibrates back and forth. Inside, with careful movement of the handle, it comes into contact with my prostate with relative ease. Because of the soft, flexible nature of the shaft, it is somewhat difficult to really exert any kind of pressure on my p-spot, but to be honest, here – it didn’t really bother me all that much. The vibrations were strong enough and had me moaning deeply as I lay there.
I also found, that despite it’s shorter length, the Moody was really great as a thrusting toy. Just slipping it in and out, with the swirl pattern and vibrations teasing and tickling my butt hole – it felt incredible. It didn’t take long for it to have me rock hard and ready to release. Personally, I found it so easy to control, even when on my back, thanks to the solid, raised buttons which are easy to navigate when you can’t see (as long as you remember which order they are in before you insert!). Honestly, it really did just feel so good. I really struggled to find anything to dislike about the Moody. In fact, it shouldn’t be called Moody. It should be called HAPPY, because that’s how it made me feel.
Clean-Up and Maintenance
The Moody is so easy to look after. When you’ve finished and reached orgasmic bliss, you can rinse the Moody under the tap with some warm water and some toy cleaner. As this is a unisex toy, it is imperative that you do not switch between vaginal/anal use without first giving the Moody a thorough clean.
As for storage, I would strongly suggest a storage bag in order to try and keep it as dust/lint free as possible. Although to be honest, in this house – even with that, i’m fighting a losing battle against a never-ending tide of pug hair. As I mentioned earlier though, nothing a quick rinse won’t sort out before use.
Summary
So I really love the Moody – for several reasons. Let’s just get this out the way first – when it comes to specific prostate pleasure, it’s good. Like, really good. But it’s no Rosa or Hugo. And you know what? I don’t even think that’s a bad thing. Both of those are expensive and are a gamble when it comes to playing with your P-Spot. If you want a decent, luxury powerful vibrator but don’t really want to drop the dough, then the Moody is perfect. Compared to the other 2, this is a steal at under £70.
But I also love it for it’s colour, it’s shape, the flexible shaft and those rumbly vibrations. It’s simple to use, feels great and would be a great gift for anyone with a g-spot/p-spot that deserves a little bit of attention. Taking it’s size into consideration, i’d say it’s perfect for almost anyone, of any experience level. This is most definitely a welcome addition to my ever-expanding repertoire of bum toys.
Where To Buy
I believe this product has now been 100% discontinued (boo!).
The MOODY was sent to me by Fun Factory for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my experiences or opinions using the toy – all experiences and opinions presented here are 100% my own. Some affiliate links have been used within this post.
