It’s happened. We promised to get three reviews out this week, and gosh darn it, we’ve only gone and done it. That means we are officially caught up! Woohoo! I can now go on holiday next week and breathe easy, knowing I don’t owe anyone anything!
We’re finishing out the week with a little bit of butt play, courtesy of the latest release from the Lovehoney Desire range. Lovehoney were kind enough to reach out a couple of months ago, and arranged for a small care package of products for review. One of those products was the Desire Prostate Vibrator. Desire is Lovehoney’s own luxury brand; we’ve reviewed a few items from the range in the past, including the Masturbator, a metal dildo and a wand (which sadly has been discontinued). How will this new prostate vibrator sit in the mix? Well let’s find out…

First Impressions
The Prostate Vibrator arrives packaged in the classic purple and black box. Inside, the toy is presented in a luxurious leather-style zip case, which protects the toy during storage and has room to keep hold of the charging cable and then any other optional extras you may wish to store with it (it’s perfect for a bottle of lube and a cock ring). The case is pretty nice looking, but I did notice with mine, there was quite a strong odour attached to it. Not so much on the outside, but on the inside, the case does have a fairly strong… fishy smell. That’s the only way I can describe it. I let it sit on the side open for a day or two, and the smell did sort of subside, but even now, it’s still noticeable.
The vibrator is made from silicone, is USB rechargeable and offers 12 levels of intensity and 8 different patterns. The toy has 2 motors; one in the shaft and one in the perineal arm. The shaft is curved but has a flexible arm. A 100 minute charge should give around 40 minutes of playtime. It has an insertable length of 4 inches, and a circumference of 4 inches around it’s widest point. It has a good weight to it, and I would agree, it does feel like a pretty luxurious toy. So how does it perform?
In Use
The Prostate Vibrator has a really approachable size for most, so insertion was pretty easy, with a good coating of lube. The bulbous tip is designed to rest against the prostate, and has a decent surface area for maximum stimulation. The large base offers a good anchor point when inserting, even with slightly slippery fingers. The flexible shaft moves with you, and the perineal arm is at a decent length, and feels quite firm, so it offers firm pressure against the perineum.
The vibrations are pretty strong, and for the most part are quite rumbly, but once you get to the highest settings, they do begin to stray into the ‘buzzier’ territory. That said, the vibrations are pleasant. The different patterns range from from your standard mixture of pulses and waves; but the best is the pattern that alternates between the 2 different motors. Combined with kegel motions, this is the mode that brought me to orgasm the quickest.
The size and shape of the vibrator feels comfortable and it works very well. The downside is the base/handle. This doesn’t allow for you to site or rock on the vibrator, which is my favourite way of using devices like this. So when using this, I have to lie on my back, and this is where the kegel exercises really come into play. The buttons can be a little tricky to reach, which is why I really wish this came with a remote control; however they do offer a vibrator WITH a remote, but it is a little more expensive.
Clean-up and Maintenance
As with most of the Desire range, this prostate vibrator is waterproof, allowing for quick and easy clean up. A good rinse with some warm soapy water is all that’s required. Once it’s dry, you can tuck it back into it’s storage case until next time. What I do like about the case, is the ability to charge the toy whilst it’s inside the case, as there is a little gap that you can run the cable through. This is a nice touch.
Summary
I’ve reviewed a lot of prostate vibrators, and generally my prostate can be quite picky. Is this a revolutionary vibrator? No, not really. I definitely have plenty of prostate vibrators I am going to reach for first over this one, such as the We-Vibe Vector or the Rabbit Company Prostate Rabbit; not only do these allow me to sit and rock with them, they are also remote controlled making them easier to use. That said, this is a pretty decent prostate toy for those that want a prostate vibe with a touch of luxury, but not the necessarily luxurious price tag.
The shape works to massage my sensitive spots, the size is manageable for me without much of a warm up, and the vibrations are pretty decent. The added leather-style case is a nice touch, and can hold a few items for when you want to take your pleasure on the go.
