It’s not often that a sex toy leaves me with extremely confused feelings. It does happen, but for me, it’s usually a pretty black and white case of ‘Yes, I like this’ or ‘No, I don’t like that’.

But the Titus MEGASTUD Duo Density Dildo has left me feeling rather confused and questioning myself. Do I like it? I think so. Do I not like it? Maybe? I don’t know! SO MUCH CONFUSION. Perhaps I should just get on and explain what’s going on, and maybe then you might understand what i’m going through.

This is the latest product that the lovely guys over at Clonezone have sent me. They recently celebrated their 35th birthday as well – an impressive feat that an LGBT business has grown to the strengths it has, especially when even now, in 2017, we are still fighting for our rights and our lives. But that’s for another post. We’re here to talk DILDO.

Back at the beginning of 2017, i’d been scouring the web for my ‘to-do list’ for 2017 and I spotted these dual density dildos on Clonezone and new that I had to try them. Only a few days later, did I receive a package from Clonezone that contained 2 of the items I had put down on my ‘wish list’. I’m an absolute sucker for a good realistic dildo; make it dual density and you will have me SALIVATING. Since i’ve tried dual density dildos, everything else just pales in comparison. I definitely prefer my dildos with a side of realism. So why did this one confuse me so much? Well let’s find out…

First Impressions

The Titus MEGASTUD dildos (there are several in the range) arrive in a pearlescent shiny cardboard box. There’s a clear window in front, so you can see your dildo inside, looking all coy and purty. Inside, the dildo sits in just a basic plastic tray. Packaging is fairly sturdy and doesn’t look too tacky. I kind of like the shiny box… but then again, I am definitely a stereotypical ‘OOH SHINY’ kind of gay so… yeah anyway…

This particular MEGASTUD dildo is of the ‘7 Inch’ variety. So what that actually means it stands proud at just shy over 7 inches, but has an insertable length of 6 inches. It’s fairly realistic in design, and round the very pronounced coronal ridge on the glans, it has a circumference of 6 inches. The shaft, which is covered in a lot of vein detail, comies in at 5.5 inches of circumference.

There is a strong, sturdy suction cup at the base which seems to hold very securely. It’s made from ‘premium silicone’ and is what they refer to as ‘duo density’ . The dildo is very squishy, yet still maintains an air of firmness about it. The silicone itself feels quite smooth. It’s not overly ‘silky’ in texture, but it’s not particularly rough either. It feels fairly pleasant in the hand.

In Use

So why does this dildo give me such conflicted feelings and emotions? Well, in short – it’s the duo density I just can’t seem to get my head around. Traditionally, when I think of ‘dual density’ products, they usually have a firm core, with a softer and almost pliable outer layer. When done correctly, it can feel extremely realistic. And that’s why I love dual density dildos. The Titus MEGASTUD however, seems a bit… confused.

Unless I have somehow received a dud, the MEGASTUD has got their densities back to front. The outer layer of the dildo is definitely firm, whilst the centre feels incredibly soft. It put me in mind of those stress ball type toys, where the inside of it is filled with flour. I mean, it doesn’t feel horrible, it just really wasn’t what I was expecting.

The dildo is realistically detailed (mostly). Around the glans, there are skin wrinkles and somewhat of a pronounced frenulum detail. On the glans itself, there is some wrinkled detail, and a bit of a urethral dip. Along the entire length of the shaft, is veins. Lots of veins. Once could say it was excessively veined, so for those who find the addition of veins on their dildos a bit too much, then perhaps don’t look at the rest of the photos in this review… For those of us not bothered by veins, I had anticipated that these would bring an interesting texture during use.

Towards the base of the dildo, there is a sculpted set of balls, featuring wrinkled detail. They are extremely firm. The suction cup is fairly strong, and stuck to most of the usual surfaces. So from a visual perspective, it’s not the ‘prettiest’ dildo i’ve seen, but it’s of a good, average size, so I was still pretty excited to give it a try. Because of the slightly larger tip, a little bit of a warm up was required to get going.

Once the motor was running though, it was a pretty satisfying experience. Mostly. The tip of the dildo is very firm, so when inside, it does exert a good amount of pressure on all the sensitive spots. The veins do provide a little bit of sensation around the sphincter as you thrust and ride with it. When fully inserted, the firm textured balls do offer a nice amount of pressure on the perineum as well, which feels nice. As dildos go, it feels pretty good and does the job for which it was intended.

It’s the dual (or duo) density I just cannot get my head around. Compared to all of the other dual density dildos I have (and love); the Titus MEGASTUD is one of the more firmer ones, and the softer core becomes even more noticeable. Is it really such a downside though? I don’t know. I mean, it certainly does offer a slightly different sensation, and for all intents and purposes it is still dual density. And like regular DD dildos, I still find this one irresistibly squishy in the hand – just not in the way that I would expect it to.

Clean-up and Maintenance

Like most silicone dildos, the MEGASTUD attracts dust and hair quite easily, but thankfully, clean up is as simple as giving it a good thorough rinse under the tap. For a deeper clean after use, you can boil it, bleach it (10% solution), fling it in the dishwasher… whatever option you choose to sanitise your silicone, you can do the same with the MEGASTUD. When it comes to storage, it’s safe to sling it in your dildo chest with all of your other toys. Although I do wish that companies would start to provide little storage bags with their silicone products. Errant pug hair gets EVERYWHERE!

Summary

So hopefully my confusion has become clear and you can maybe understand why I sort of err on both sides. On the one hand, it is a fairly interesting dildo that feels good during use. The detailing adds a nice bit of texture and it’s of a size that most people shouldn’t find too intimidating. However I just can’t make my mind up on whether I actually like this style of dual density, and whether it really is worthy of being called a dual density toy.

There aren’t many dual density toys that are widely available, nor are they affordable for everyone. This particular MEGASTUD dildo clocks in at a RRP of £59.99. It’s probably one of the more ‘affordable’ dual density dildos, and if you’ve never tried anything like that before, and you are on a bit more of a budget, then perhaps it’s worth giving it a try. However, for me, who has been spoiled by some GORGEOUS dual density pieces (*cough* SAM *cough*), the MEGASTUD is a bit of a anti-climax. But I did still enjoy using it… Oh see, now i’m confused again….!

The Lowdown

7.8
As dildos go, it’s not bad. I think if this was just a single density dildo, i’d probably be singing it’s praises. It’s sizeable enough to leave me full with a nice amount of texture for added sensation. But as dual density goes, it’s a bit of a muddle. But it’s still cheaper than most, so…
